I started off my film making journey at the age of 9, creating Lego stop-motion films. they weren't very long or very good, but Mum was impressed by them so I kept going. At the age of 15 I decided to stop messing around and try to use everything I had learnt over the years to make one incredible stop motion film. Someone had recently shown me how to make a little foil man out of a Kit-Kat wrapper, and i thought it was pretty cool, so that's what I made the film about. I put the finished film "Foil" on you-tube with hopes of fame and fortune, but when I only received a few hundred views and several people accusing me of theft, I decided to chalk it up to experience and forgot about it. However, about 2 years later, for whatever reason, it suddenly took off, reaching over a million views in a few months. My childhood dream of becoming a filmmaker was rekindled. After this, I began to get jobs and money and whatnot which was nice. During lock down I began work on my second big stop motion: "Remote Postal Services" which I worked on for 3 years before dropping out of university to work on full time. It is now finally finished, and ready to show to the world. Will it reach the same heights as "Foil"? We will see.
This film is the culmination of 4 years work. I started work on the film during lock down, looking for something to do, I decided to make a film about a man who, much like me, was bored to death and stuck in a confined space. This film is about loneliness, escapism, and the danger of Prioritizing dreams over reality. The entire film, bar the music was made by me, everything from the models to the animation to the editing. It is the culmination of 3 years part time one year full time. Much like the man in this film, I almost went mad making it, but its finished now, and I can quite confidently say I have given it my all, so I hope you enjoy it.
