Daniel Paul, an independent filmmaker, and a New Hampshire native, began making super 8 films in the early 1970's. He went on to study film production and film theory at Keene State College and was one of the very first film students at Keene State. He has gone on to make a number short, dramatic films, including the award winning short film "Hangover" (1981), documentaries, TV commercials and industrial films.
"Reminiscing" was my third college film project. It was shot on Super 8 with sync double system sound, the first sync sound film shot at Keene State. It was co-written by myself and John P. Sullivan, and loosely based on our own personal experiences. Keene State College was used as the backdrop for the story, and the bulk of the shooting was done during the Christmas break in January of 1983. At 30+ minutes in length, this was a big undertaking for a college film project. My cast of Norm St. Germain, Kate Nelligan and Robert Ford did a tremendous job and went above and beyond the call of duty to help see this project through. I can never thank them enough!! This film was selected by current KSC film students to be screened at the "Keene State College Alumni Film Festival" in April of 2018, and was very well received.
