Reframe and layer

REFRAME AND LAYER

What can an image reveal by enlarging it and how does it evolve by layering ?
This is what takes place in the photographic printing process or in the construction of an engraving. In Antonioni’s Blowup of 1966, the photographer discovers a murder hidden in the details of his pictures, while in M. R. James’ The Mezzotint, (1904), the engraving will change with time to describe a story of dispossession, murder and revenge.
The images in this film are offered to London, capturing moments and the stories they may frame. Enlargement, reframing and layering the images become editing and colouring devices inscribed in light, glimpses of stories partly told, an invitation to the imagination.

RECADRER, STRATIFIER
