Red Roses

In this dark, noir-inspired drama, a detective slowly unravels the deeds of a woman, Scarlet Thorn, wracked with unending grief and anger at the betrayal of her sister's husband years ago, who had murdered his wife, and got away with it. The detective takes the case after the newly widowed spouse, Delaware Rose, drops dead outside her local church, seemingly of a heart attack. She tracks records, even finding the grave of Scarlet Thorn's sister, finally putting most of the puzzle together. Theodore Rose was the cold blooded killer of Scarlet's beloved younger sister. Scarlet Thorn killed Theodore in a psychotic frenzy fueled by insatiable guilt, or so it is thought. Her refusal to take accountability directly led to the death of Theodore's wife, a heart attack caused by the same guilt Scarlet had felt. The unending cycle of death and vengeance ends when the detective tracks Scarlet to a church where she disguises herself as a priest, and confronts her. Police sirens screech as the title rolls.
