Director Biography - Chas Harrington

Born and raised in the south east of England, I studied Digital Film Production at Ravensbourne University where I earned a first class degree.

I have written and directed three large scale short films over the past 2 years, my earliest film Calamity Bot has had great success over in the USA, getting into over 15 festivals and winning several awards. Including ‘Best Student Director’ and ‘Best Comedy Short’ at Independent Shorts Awards, it also got into the official selection of the LA Lift-Off Online Film Festival and won ‘Best Short Film’ at CKF International Film Festival.

As well as writing and directing my own work, I also directed and produced a commercial piece of work for Canary Wharf Group for their ‘Run. Hide. Tell’ Anti-terrorism campaign.

I also currently have two feature scripts and two TV Pilots in development, one of which being an adaptation of the successful amazon book ‘Subversive’ by Paul Grzegorzek.

My latest short film was produced for around £2.5K and stars Andrew Laithwaite from HBO’s Gangs of London. My biggest and most ambitious project yet, the script was a finalist at Sunday Shorts film festival and received acclaim from Claire Russel, the script editor of River City.
