Reclaimer
"Reclaimer" is a short film by Daniel Corey that tells the story of a man who uses his supernatural powers to heal a broken city.
The film features an original soundtrack, "Plastiqe Man (Reclaimer I)," written, produced, and performed by Daniel. Portions of the music were derived from mathematical models of dark matter, using gravitational wave oscillations, harmonic overtones, cosmic pulse modulation, and randomized astrophysical impulses.
The protagonist of "Reclaimer" is based on award-winning filmmaker James Cotten. Daniel took the original photographs of James used to create the character, combining them with composite images from his award-winning "Map of the World" conceptual photo series. These visuals were processed in Midjourney, animated using Luma AI Dream Machine Ray2, and edited in Adobe Premiere.
Daniel took a hands-on approach at every stage of the process, composing, producing, mixing, and mastering the score in Logic Pro X using a Novation Launchkey 37. The result is a fusion of AI-driven visuals and cinematic electronic music, blending storytelling and technology to bring "Reclaimer" to life.

Daniel Corey is an accomplished writer and Telly Award-winning content creator who has written for various media, including stage, screen, print, and VR. His most notable work to date has been the graphic novels "Moriarty" and "Red City"—both published by Image Comics—and his award-winning AI-created music video "Lift Me Up." He is also an accomplished musician and photographer, serves as an industry expert on Full Sail University’s Creative Writing Program Advisory Committee, and has spoken at colleges and pop culture conventions around the country.
Daniel’s writing career started in the live theater, and in 2007, he made the move to new media when he created DangerKatt Creative Studio, a company that serves as an umbrella for all of his creative endeavors. In 2009, DangerKatt published "Prophet," a graphic novel written and created by Daniel. Since then, Daniel has produced three additional comic series: "Moriarty," "Red City," and "Bloodworth."
Moriarty would eventually be adapted into a VR comic experience, a project that would earn Daniel the #2 spot on Onalytica's Top 100 Virtual Reality Influencers list. Additionally, Moriarty would also win the Philip K. Dick Film Festival Award for Best Sci-Fi Graphic novel, as well as Best Action and Adventure Graphic Novel from BookFest.
Daniel’s work has been featured in Yahoo! Finance, USA Today, Associated Press, The Wrap, Toronto Film Magazine, WhitePaperBy, CinemaWide Magazine, CanvasRebel, The Liftoff Network, VIVEPORT, L.A. Talk Radio, Onalytica.com, and Intellect Books, among other media outlets.
With “Reclaimer,” I set out to explore the idea of renewal, both personal and societal. At its core, the film tells the story of a man who uses his supernatural abilities to heal a broken city, a metaphor for the struggle to reclaim hope in the face of darkness. I wanted to create a world that felt both haunting and transformative, a space where destruction and rebirth coexist.
The visual process began with original photographs of award-winning filmmaker James Cotten, which I blended with composite images from my “Map of the World” conceptual photo series. These images were processed in Midjourney, animated using Luma AI Dream Machine Ray2, and refined in Adobe Premiere. This fusion of photography and AI-driven animation allowed me to craft a surreal, evolving landscape that mirrors the protagonist’s journey.
The soundtrack, “Plastiqe Man (Reclaimer I),” is essential to this vision. I composed, produced, mixed, and mastered the score using Logic Pro X and a Novation Launchkey 37, incorporating sound design inspired by cosmic structures and physical forces. I also wrote the lyrics and performed the music myself. The speaking voice on the track was AI-generated, serving as an additional creative layer in the film’s fusion of human expression and technology. While AI executes the spoken elements, the composition, instrumentation, and vocal intent remain entirely my own.
“Reclaimer” is a convergence of art, music, and technology, a testament to the creative possibilities of our time. It’s a film about reclaiming what has been lost and finding light in the ruins.
