Plot Summary
A nightmare wakes John up long after morning has passed into midday. It's one of the many nightmares haunting him. He is a mess. A shelf of medicines and a stale beer await for him. He's having them all.
As he looks towards a bookcase full of empty beer cans, he recalls the accident which took the lives of his wife and daughter ten years ago. All the usual methods of seeking and finding relief and inner peace have failed him.
Driven by his desire to heal his soul and the hope of living a normal life again, John makes use of all his knowledge and his firm belief that his negative thinking patterns, obsessions, and regrets are somehow deeply rooted inside his brain, and builds a device to erase them from his memory. If he succeeds, this could be his life-saving cure.
But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare him for the choice he must make. Following a series of faulty tryouts, the only way to make the memory eraser device work is by a life-threating, game-changer upgrade. A sacrifice John's willing to make.

Andrei Thutat Ungur is a Romanian Independent Filmmaker.
His latest project is the short movie "Reboot" (2019), a zero-budget project which Andrei challenged himself to make it alone, all by himself, covering all the departments, from original screenplay writing, directing, shooting, editing, creating animations and visual effects, recording music and sound and acting on camera.
In 2014 Andrei made the one-minute short movie "Chemarea Elizei (Elisa's Calling)".
Andrei Thutat performed in numerous independent stage play productions and other short films.
His other works include poetry and prose, drawings and paintings and photography.
Reboot movie project began because of my huge desire to make movies and start a career as a film director. It started as a personal, self-imposed challenge, to discover just what movie could I do all by myself, using only equipment and props I already had and relying only on myself for all the work.
So I wrote, directed, filmed, acted, recorded dialogue, created music on my keyboard, edited, created VFX and CGI for several scenes and green screen animations. It was a labor of love.
I am very happy and proud of my project because I know I did it all alone, with a zero-budget and no crew, except my own mother whom I asked to help me for 3 panning shots where I had to act on camera and, of course, I couldn’t be in both places at the same time (in front and back of the camera).
I shot the movie using a Nikon D5100 DSLR camera which I have since 2012 and a GoPro Hero 4 Black camera I have since 2016. I recorded the sound, dialogue, and foley with a Behringer B-1 Condenser Microphone via a Behringer Q802USB mixer connected to my mac. I made the music on my Yamaha PSR-E413 keyboard.
The most challenging aspects were: 1. framing the shots because I had no one to replace me and stay in front of the camera while I framed the shot and 2. recording good sound and music at my noisy place.
I love movies and I want to make movies that inspire people and lift people's spirits.
