Director Biography - Bruce David Janu

Bruce David Janu is the founder of Bell, Book and Camera Productions. A teacher by trade, his focus has been documentaries. His first film, Facing Sudan, won the Best Documentary award at the Illinois International Film Festival in 2008. The follow-up to that film was Crayons and Paper. His latest documentary is This Sacred Place: The Story of Old Lynn Concerts, which recently completed the festival circuit, gaining a few awards.

Director Statement

To pass some time during quarantine, I enlisted the help of my teenage boys to produce a short horror film. The result: Rearview. Although it was filmed in 2020 at the start of the pandemic, another film got in the way of finishing this one. It was recently re-edited and here is the final product.
