Antony Kos is a freelance animator, and a graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Animation program. He specializes in hand-drawn and 2D rigged animation, as well as storyboarding and character design.
He is known on YouTube as "Anko6theAnimator," the creator of Brawl of the Objects (animated webseries). He also writes and performs music under his name, having released his debut album All for When in May 2020.
In terms of personal work, he currently plans to continue his YouTube animated content alongside his music. Professionally, he is looking to pursue endeavours in animation, storyboarding, or character design.
Inspired by the zany internet humour I grew up with on sites like YouTube and Newgrounds - as well as Nickelodeon cartoons like Spongebob and The Angry Beavers - I wanted to direct and animate a left-field film that subverts the viewer's expectations every 5 seconds. "Rat Snacks" is a project that was chaotic from conception, given how it came to me in a single stream of consciousness on the night before having to make a film proposal deadline. My friends all thought it was insanity when I pitched it, which was ten times more entertaining to me than the other cutesy idea I had for a film, so I decided it was worth seeing through to the end.
I tried to pull all the stops with production on "Rat Snacks" - all the 2D rigged animation, hand-drawn animation, 3D modeling, and music being done by myself. It was a pleasure getting to work with my mentor Doug Hadders, who gave me great pointers throughout pre-production and who was more than supportive of my weirdo humour. It was also a pleasure to invite on Ian Woodside (my boyfriend) as the voice of Brian, and Dick Jarvis as the voice of Demon, both of whom are extremely talented individuals.
Many people enabled me in directing the most insane film I could as my thesis, and I'll leave it up to you to decide if that was for the better. Writing a film that has a gag in almost every scene was what got me to finish this film before the end of my college semester, since every scene gave me something to look forward to and be excited about. Plenty of laughs were had with my friends as I showed off animatic drafts and finished scenes for this project; I hope you as the viewer can get a similar kick out of the insanity that is "Rat Snacks"!
