Random Addicts
Random Addicts is a comedy series featuring Viola Houston, an unconventional therapist who turns every attempt at counseling into a full-blown spectacle. The official mission is to help people break their addictions, but on camera, what should be psychological guidance becomes a show of outrageous antics. With sharp humor, an explosive temper, and zero filter, Viola says on national television what no one else dares to — prioritizing her own interests and showing no concern for the consequences.

Igor Moreira is a director, producer, and acting coach, founder of Gypsy Produções. His feature “Eulália” streamed on Amazon Prime Video and won international awards (Best Director in New York and Cannes, Best International Film in Berlin, Best Screenplay in Brazil). He worked on Globo’s soap opera “Família é Tudo”, created the musical web series “Love Rock & Blues”, the drama series “My Lovely Therapist” and the comedy “Random Addicts.” He’s known for rapidly spotting performance gaps and fast-tracking actors’ growth.
Random Addicts was born from my desire to turn everyday absurdities into a spectacle of sharp, biting humor. I’ve always been fascinated by how, behind seemingly small habits and addictions, there’s an enormous weight of truth, vanity, and human contradiction.
With Viola Houston, I found the perfect lens to expose it: a host who doesn’t follow scripts, has no filter, and fears no consequences. The show, which is supposed to counsel and help, turns into a stage where the most uncomfortable truths are thrown straight in people’s faces — and it’s precisely in that tension between help and chaos that comedy thrives.
My goal was to create a piece with fast pacing, cinematic aesthetics, and characters who, even in their exaggerations, everyone can recognize in some way. I want the audience to laugh, feel uncomfortable, and ultimately realize that these “random addicts” aren’t all that far from ourselves.
