Director Biography - Shankar Sudhakaran, Eva Nel Brettrager

Neil "Shankar" Sudhakaran is an award winning independent filmmaker, projectionist, and sound designer from Cleveland, OH. Being a second generation Indian/American Neil's father is justifiably devastated for his pursuit of the arts, or at least would be if this absentee wasn’t awarded the distinguished Deadbeat Dad of the Year since 1990. Throughout the late 20th Century Neil was reluctantly checking diversity quotas and changing hearts in Ashland, Ohio as being “One of the good brownies”. Neil would like to thank The Grim Reaper, the two have become best buds, although Mr. Grim visits less regularly since Neil received a kidney and liver transplant. And the love of his Life Madison, even though she won’t stand next to him in the TSA security check for fear of random selection by proximity. Most notably Neil received a Cleveland Critics Circle Award for his film / projection work on Angry Fags at convergence-continuum. Neil proudly serves on the board of directors for convergence-continuum, assisting with their marketing and communications initiatives. Neil is also the founder of The Akron Independent Horror Short Film Festival. For more information visit nsudock.com

Director Statement

Thank you to Eva, Eric, Madison, Kate, Dred, Jon, and the whole Stew Crew, couldn't have made this without you.

As a filmmaker it's important to uplift my friends, I'm so ecstatic that Eric lent us his script "Date Night". Adapting from stage to screen presented its own unique challenges, we hope you'll be entertained and surprised by our film. Take chances. Scrape your knees. Love everyone and always be kind.
