Director Statement

“When the Rabbit Got the Gun” was inspired by years of documentary production in collaboration with Los Angeles-based organizations that support unhoused and substance abuse recovery communities. Upon moving to another part of the world with weather patterns significantly more challenging for the unhoused than Southern California, I began connecting with local community members and support groups to learn and to contribute. One of the extraordinary people I met, Mr. Glenn Plotner, collaborated on this experimental documentary and it is his story and voice that serve as the narrative engine of “When the Rabbit Got the Gun”.
