I decided to direct Resurrection after reading the script and seeing the great message it had to give.
With this film I wanted to show how you can have everything and then lose it all in the blink of any eye. I wanted to talk about the difficulty of living on the street under the sometimes cruel eyes of others and their judgments. But I also want to talk about the good in the people we meet, of happiness, redemption and hope.
We always have the choice to change our way of seeing life. When the spirit says "Abandon", hope says "Try again".
I see this film as a dark story that brings out the light. I wanted to capture the subtle but powerful emotions of the characters, with little dialogue.
This is a film made to open our hearts and make us want to be better towards ourselves and towards others.
Thank you,
Sabine Crossen
