Director Biography - Dhun Sharma

Dhun was born in Varanasi, India and at the age of five he ,when his family moved to the US. Dhun was creatively influenced by two very distinct cultures. Whether it was his successful navigation of two cultural experiences, or his innate imagination and curiosity, his unique perspective stands out on both page and screen. In 2016, Dhun published his first graphic novel titled “Dalma.” He has won numerous awards for his script writing, including official finalist in Independent Short Awards, Directors Cut International Film Festival, Vail Screen Play Contest, and Best Short Script in Screen Power Film Festival along with the 2020 Honorable Mention of the Year. In 2019, Dhun graduated from InFocus Film School in Vancouver and quickly began working in the industry as a 1st and 2nd AC. Most recently, Dhun successfully wrapped on his short film titled “Lullaby” which he wrote, directed, and produced.

Director Statement

The core of this movie is about ones struggle with humanity in the face of dire circumstances. We as human beings have all been in compromising  situations in our lives ,where things seem hopeless.  Although our situations may not be as dire as the ones Rebel faces, it is precisely these situations that help us realize the hopelessness that others have to face on a day to day basis. People that are far less fortunate then us.
