I’ve never been able to relax.
To let things go.
To sit still long enough
for silence to stop sounding dangerous.
Some people close their eyes
and drift into peace.
I close mine
and hear every unfinished thought
marching in circles.

Behold the angels in paradise.
Floating above the noise,
weightless, untouched, eternal.
They do not worry about tomorrow.
They do not replay yesterday.
But down here,
my hands still shake from invisible storms.
My mind keeps every window open
waiting for something terrible
or beautiful
to arrive.
I need to relax.
Not forever.
Just long enough
to remember what it feels like
to breathe
without carrying the whole world
inside my chest.
