Queen of Kernow
A Gentlewoman, Lady Mary Killigrew, schemes with her servants
to pirate a Spanish merchant-ship that has docked in her families
harbour.
A large Spanish galleon docks in the Killigrew family’s harbour in
Falmouth, Cornwall. The two merchants traveling aboard the ship,
are invited to dine in the manor on behest of Lady Mary Killigrew,
and her husband, Sir John Killigrew. While the merchants are distracted with food and drink, Mary sneaks aboard and plunders the ship, before returning to the same dinner party that began the night.

As a graduate of the Falmouth School of Film and Television, I aim to utilise my personal experience as a German and Kazakh descendant to reimagine stories from an unconventional perspective. My nomadic lifestyle during adolescence and early adulthood has exposed me to a rich tapestry of cultures, which is evident in my work. My films, spanning experimental and documentary genres, have been officially selected and recognised in various film festivals.
Having previously contributed to "Lighter" (2022) as a writer/director, this marks my second venture into the realm of short films. My journey in the film industry has been enriched by internships at Made In China Films and Radius Films. A personal milestone was the shortlisting of "glasperlenspiel" (2017) at the Shanghai Film Festival. In recent times, I've expanded my horizons by producing music videos and taking on roles as a Camera Assistant and Gaffer for other narrative shorts. "Queen of Kernow" holds a special place in my heart. It's a culmination of my deep connection to Falmouth, my home for the past three years, and my passion for storytelling. I'm grateful for the chance to channel the skills and experiences I've garnered over the years into breathing life into this tale.
