Q=mc∆T is the name of the capsule collection by italian newcomer fashion brand ANΣ, presented at the Fashion Graduate Italia 2021 and featured on GMARO Magazine.

Director Biography - Lorenzo Bussone

After obtaining his high school diploma, he produced "What Makes Us Human": an extended pitch trailer for a low-budget science fiction film. A year later, he collaborated with Millais Flower Honey for the music video of their first single: "Sugarless". His first fashion film, "Q=mcΔT", obtained the "Best Cinematography Award" at the Digital Media Fest 2022 and an official selection at the Milan Fashion Film Festival. After graduating from DAMS in Turin, he was selected for the second edition of the Piemonte Factory contest, thanks to which he produced his first short film: "Sul Bric Mindino non c'è nessun pino". It won the Best Short Film Prize and the Special Mention for Sustainability.

ITALIANO:

La distanza mentale che può intercorrere tra due persone per vari motivi (per esempio un litigio) viene tradotta ed amplificata per immagini attraverso un utilizzo non convenzionale dello split screen. Grazie a tale messa in scena, la distanza mentale si trasforma in distanza fisica.

La distanza fisica tra persone, tra corpi (i due protagonisti sono muti), genera freddo e rende necessario l’utilizzo di abiti caldi, piumini, per non patirne le conseguenze. Solo dopo un traumatico percorso di cambiamento (che consiste nel venire a patti con sé stessi) è possibile appianare tali dolorose distanze. L’abbraccio (riavvicinamento fisico che sottintende quello mentale) diviene l’emblema della riappacificazione. L’abbraccio finale tra i due protagonisti permette uno scambio di calore tra corpi, che riequilibra gli spiriti contrastanti e permette di fare a meno dei piumini.

Q=mcΔT è una formula utilizzata in termodinamica per il calcolo del calore (Q) necessario a cambiare la temperatura (da t1 a t2) di una data sostanza (di massa m e avente un calore specifico c diverso da sostanza a sostanza). In altre parole, si tratta della formula di scambio di calore tra due corpi.

ENGLISH:

The mental distance between two individuals is translated and amplified through images thanks to an unconventional use of the split screen effect. This unusual device transforms the mental distance into a physical one.

The physical distance between people, or rather between bodies (the two protagonists are silent), generates cold. In order not to suffer the coldness, people will wear warm clothes. Only after coming to terms with oneself it will be possible to shorten those such painful distances between individuals. The physical act of hugging becomes the symbol of mental reconciliation. The final embrace between the two protagonists allows an exchange of heat between bodies, which rebalances conflicting spirits.

Q=mcΔT is a formula used in thermodynamics to calculate the heat (Q) necessary to change the temperature (from t1 to t2) of a given substance (m=mass, c=specific heat capacity). In other words, it is the heat exchange formula between two bodies.
