Experiencing Interruptions?

Punk'n'Politics

Two friends that used to produce punk rock festivals saw themselves constantly asking, "what happened to punk rock?" The lack of people showing up to see the shows pushed them to organize a trip to Europe, where they would enter as press to interview their favorite bands. They asked them questions about how they got into Punk Rock, but politics was always the main topic. After 23 days of traveling, camping, getting stuff stolen, lots of walks, trains, rides, and a lot of Punk Rock, they put together this frenetic documentary dedicated to all punk rockers who also enjoy politics.

Director Biography - Guilherme Rosa

Gui was born in 1983 in the city of Porto Alegre in Brazil. Since he was a little boy, he always had a thing for the arts. He used to live across the street from a theater, and almost every weekend his mom would take him there to see classical concerts and plays.

When he was a teenager, he moved to California, where his desire to make films grew even more. He went to college to study filmmaking, but during this time he got married and was working on a demanding job, leading him to drop out of college. After his divorce, he quit his job and moved to Brazil for two years. There he taught English but also quickly got involved in the local theater scene. He made friends with actors and joined forces with a YouTuber and helped produce a comedy channel. Moreover, he also played in a band and produced music festivals.

In 2016, he traveled to Europe to film his first full-length documentary film entitled Punk'n'Politics that will be out on July 1st, this year (2019) on his production company's website RogueVideoProductions.com. He is also back in college, engaged in pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Digital Filmmaking.
