Noriel M. Jarito is a recipient of two CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) independent film competition awards for BA’T ‘MAN (Why?), 2nd Prize – 2009 and BINGO, honorable mention – 2008. He is the Samar/Leyte coorninator and delegate to Cinema Rehiyon film festival since 2010. His 2nd full-length film titled HURAMENTADO (Oath to Die) won awards - Jury Choice Award from 5th Delhi International Film Festival. Omega Prize and Special Mention in Film Editing from CIM-Sueca International Film Festival in Spain. Special Jury Award in 2016 4-Chances International Film Festival-Germany Edition. His first full-length film RINDIDO (Deranged) was one of the finalists in the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival’s (MMFF) 1st ever digital category held in December 2010 and was shown in Metro Manila movie houses. His short film about his town Pambujan – KAKAWTI KAABTIK KAPALTIK (Fall, Rise and Fool) named one of the best short films of 2010 by lilokpelikula.com. ABA’T ARR! a documentary about water conservation won 2nd Prize in 1st Climate Change Commission Short Film Competition (2010). His documentary BINGO competed in 13th Lyon Asian Film Festival (France, 2007) and Babelgum online film festival. His first short film OFW: BAGONG BAYANI O BALIW NA BAYANI (New Heroes or Mad Heroes) was a finalist in 2nd PBO-Viva Films Digitales (2008) and was shown in national cable; competed in 11th Int’l Panorama of Independent Filmmakers (Greece, 2009), Tehran 11th Int’l Short Film Festival (Iran, 2006). He graduated Fine Arts major in advertising from Far Eastern University, Manila in 1993 and worked as a Graphic Designer in Saudi Arabia for international ad agencies from 1996 to 2001. Born (June 18, 1972) and raised in Pambujan, Northern Samar where he lives with his wife Tina and stepson Kim.
