Director Biography - Eleanna Santorinaiou

Eleanna was born in Athens, Greece. After graduating from High School, she studied Philosophy & History of Science in the Kapodestrian University of Athens. During this period she also participated in the production team of Music, Art & Technology Festivals & short Films as well. After finishing her studies in Athens, she moved to London to study filmmaking at London Film Academy.

She has been collaborating for 9 years with Fournos Center for Digital Culture (http://www.fournos-culture.gr/) in Athens where she has written and directed 5 plays for Children which have been seen from 75.000 people over the course of 10 years.

Since 2014 she is working in London as a freelance editor and director. She has directed 5 short films with the latest “Pub & Such" - a short exploring loneliness in our period.

Her future plans include a commercial, one short films, a feature film which has had interest from Sundance Screenwriter’s lad, and an animation short.

Director Statement

We always hide behind the images we make for ourselves and we present to others. Nevertheless we cannot hide from ourselves, or at least not as long as we want to. In the quiet times, our thoughts visit us and remind us what we wish from our lives.
