Director Biography - Adonis de la Cruz Vásquez, Layla Aráez Vanbremeersch

Spanish director, producer and screenwriter born in the Dominican Republic. I always liked to write, but I fell in love with cinema when I discovered that thanks to it I could turn words into images.

Director Statement

One night I got lost with a friend in Athens and, somehow, we always ended up coming back to the same point. Alcohol, the night, being in a foreign country (we are both Spanish) and disorientation led us to see that experience as something supernatural.
In this story I seek to reinvent the myths of ancient Greece and Japan about the passage between life and death and show the happiness that expatriates feel when they return home and how it fades when they realize that the world is still moving forward if they are not there.
