Director Biography - Steven Chan

Steven, a Detroit native, began his filmmaking journey in front of the camera. While working a "regular" job at an advertising agency after college he was introduced to the entertainment industry when he was asked to audition for a commercial while accompanying a coworker to the audition. Steven booked it and subsequently the next 8 consecutive auditions as well!

Steven moved to NYC a year later to model and study acting. While in NYC, Steven graced the pages of major magazines while studying at the famed HB Studio. He was also cast in several short films as well as a major studio film.

Now based in Los Angeles, Steven began to write, produce and direct his own projects when he saw the lack of Asian Americans representation in Hollywood.

Pseudo is my take on losing ones self on the internet. With vast amounts of information at your fingertips you can literally be across the world within seconds. Although the internet has bridged the gap across the world and made our lives easier, we constantly have to protect ourselves and be aware against the evil that prey on our vulnerability on the information super highway. Now with social media people are literally addicted and losing themselves online!

I got the inspiration to write Pseudo while visiting my family. I observed my nephew and little cousin watching YouTube videos on their iPads for hours. When they were not watching videos online they were playing video games...often with someone online.
