Director Statement

This film wasn't written as much as it was regurgitated from my subconscious.

I was in the thick of editing my documentary "Much Ado About Nothing" when I was suddenly struck with a powerful urge to drop everything, get outside, and do something...ANYTHING that wasn't related to the tedium of editing. So I phoned a couple of actor friends, grabbed my cell phone and started shooting. No script, no real plan, totally impulsive, and reliant only on what was readily at hand. Be it set, props, costumes, or whatever.

Two years on, I've got enough footage in the can for my first narrative feature entitled, "Thalassophilia", and while I finish up my work on the main feature, I thought it might be fun to drop a little taste of what's to come.

"Prologue: Thalassophilia - A Cryptograph in Three Acts" is intended to serve both as a stand-alone experimental short film as well as an introduction to the surreal realm in which the feature-length version of "Thalssophilia" will take place.

So, smoke a nice fat blunt, abandon all rational thought, and delve deep into the mystery of "Prologue: Thalassophilia - A Cryptograph in Three Acts".
