Project 13: The Last Day
Project 13: The Last Day, is a gripping, white-knuckle, sci-fi action drama, that follows the Braverman Family as they travel across country, now deep in trauma and anarchy, to the safety and security of a military installation after a top-secret resuscitation drug, in testing for decades, became airborne after a malfunction in the laboratory protocols. With containment impossible, the government retreats to a specialized bunker, NEQ1, deep in the Appalachian Mountains, forcing citizens to fend for themselves. President Mateo Sandavol, the first Hispanic president, has walled off the 13 original states, along the eastern seaboard to protect the seat of commerce, government, and military. Jan Braverman, an active-duty Air Force Lieutenant colonel, charged with protecting Zone 1, headquartered in Boston, is privileged to top-secret intelligence, which indicates the contagion, which causes resuscitation of the dead in an accelerated post-mortem state, is overwhelming many parts of the unprotected U.S. As the nation begins to fall apart, militias, and other fringe doomsday groups, begin to overrun cities and towns across the country. After one year and an unknown timeline of restoration, Jan sends her brother, Andrew, on a secret mission to return to their parents’ home 2000 miles away, gathering their family, and bring them to Boston. The family on their journey to reunite falls victim to militias, the shock of transformations, the fury of nature, destruction of transportation, and loss of communication, leaving them stranded and dependent only on each other and their will to survive.
