Chris Dabney began his entertainment career at Philadelphia’s infamous Freedom Theater. While in Philly, he racked up a host of acting stage credits to include “Annin Street”, “Idella’s Soulshack”, “Let the Church Roll On”, “Guys & Dolls”, “Silence”, and “A Change is Gonna Come” to name a few before migrating to Hollywood. He then moved on to rack up numerous acting television and film credits over the following few years including “A Shepherd’s Story”, “Nailed”, “Sactrosanctus”, “L.A. Forensics”, “MADtv”, and “The Young & the Restless”.
After teaming up with business partner, Donald Welch in 1999, Chris Dabney has co-produced over 20 sold-out theater performances across the U.S. for over 20 years. During that timeframe, he also wrote, directed, and produced his first short film “Sidney” which would go on to win “Best Family Short” at the Garden State Film Festival in 2006. As a Producer, Chris also received two NAACP Theatre Awards Nominations for Best Ensemble Cast with “The Bachelorette Party” in 2007 and “The Divorce” in 2008. In 2008, he wrote, directed, and produced the Hollywood sold-out hit stage play “Pleasantville”, for which he was recognized as “Playwright of the Year” by the County of Los Angeles. Chris has written multiple screenplays and has most recently Co-Produced the hit short film “Babygirl” which has currently won over 25 awards both domestically and internationally. The film was subsequently acquired and showcased on ALLBLK television network. Chris’ most recent film, “Princess Love”, which he wrote, directed, and produced starring Eric Roberts & Heaven Howard is currently showcasing for 2024 film festivals.
