Director Biography - Rodja Martin Tröscher

After Rodja Tröscher finished a three years digital media designer apprenticeship he became engaged as a graphic designer in a renowned advertising agency in Cologne. But with a passion for acting, he started gaining experience performing in TV series and in theatre plays. His passion became his profession after completing drama school in 2006. Since then he has followed this career until in 2010, when he wrote his first short film and feature script. This lead to creation of his own production company. Over the last ten years Rodja Tröscher has produced and directed several award winning films.

Director Statement

Especially in these difficult times we live through right now, world-wide, I believe art is more important for us than we realize. We need to get away from the crisis, from the scary thoughts, and look at pictures, stories or photos that can take our imagination away to other places. Comedy is a type of dramatic work that is amusing and satirical in its tone. Humor must hurt and make laugh the same time in my opinion. And to create that it is very important to have a clear view of society and to built situations by the very own special point of view. That is what I try to do with my movies. And make people laugh is a great pleasure additionally.
