Panagiotis Kakavias studied Film and Television direction at the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos where he received the first prize during the film school festival for his short film FYGI (Escape), in 1982.

Director of numerous short films and documentaries (RANTEVOU, SKIRTIMA,
GRI-GRI, MILLS THROUGHOUT TIME, THE SUSPECT, AIDS AND PREVENTION, DRUGS and more).

He embarked on his professional career in TV, as an assistant director for the TV serial HADJIMANUEL (5 episodes, 60') directed by Yannis Smaragdis in 1983.

He began his collaboration with ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation) in 1984.
Some of his more distinguished works include:

Production Manager for 160 documentaries “ERT in Northern Greece” and
“ERT in All of Greece” with Christos Christodoulou and
Directed five documentaries of the series.

Director of 80 shows of the program HEALTH FOR ALL,
in collaboration with EMY KROKIDI 1987-88

Director of 20 documentaries featuring DIMITRI DELIOLANES, DIMITRIS LIATSOS, LABIS TSIRIGOTAKIS, ARGYRIS DINOPOULOS, GIANNIS TZANETAKOS and more.

Director of approximately 6000 news reports for ERT.

Director of corporate videos for: ALICO, METAXAS, SPACE HELLAS and more.

Director of 250 episodes for the TV talk-show: “NIGHT VISITOR” with Aris Skiadopoulos.

At the same time, he was:
Director of the SATELLITE TV Department.
Director of a daily TV show presented by KONSTANTINOS ZOULAS (200 episodes).
Director of 32 episodes for the TV series REMAKE presented by RENA THEOLOGIDOU.
Director of 4 episodes of the series GREEKS presented by SOFIA TSILIGIANNI.
Director of the TV show ROADS presented by ARIS SKIADOPOULOS.
Director of 150 episodes of the series HEALTH FOR ALL featuring MICHALIS KEFALOGIANNIS.
Responsible for the TV coverage and director of all the TORCH RELAYS 2004 – 2010.
Artistic Director for multiple TV show opening sequences & logos.
Director of the show NET ECONOMY by G. PAPAGEORGIOU and C. MEGA.
And THURSDAY NIGHT x2 with G. POLITIS and P. GAVRA and more.
Director of the show MIXANI TOU XRONOU (The Time Machine) with Christos Vassilopoulos 2013 – 2015.

Producer of the film THORN, directed by GAVRIIL TZAFKAS (Greek-Danish coproduction) EURIMAGES’ Lab Project at Agora Works in Progress Award, at TIFF 2016, First Cinema Award by ERT at TIFF 2017. It was screened at ten international film festivals.

In 2015 he resigned from ERT –where he was a director for 30 years- as he decided to become active in the private market as a DIRECTOR – PRODUCER – DISTRIBUTOR OF AUDIOVISUAL WORKS by founding his own company. He has the rights for 150 films by Nikos Tzimas, Stelios Tatassopoulos, Pavlos Tasios, Dimitris Makris, Dimitris Trangalos, Stratos Makridis, Giorgos Bakolas, 120 hours of children’s TV series and 70 documentaries.
