Tony is a graduate of The American Theatre of Actors & Writers in Manhattan, where his off-Broadway play TELL VERONICA! ran in NY. It later premiered in LA, receiving rave reviews in The LA Times. Tony’s other NY credits include The Hostesses, a Top 5 Finalist in the Samuel French One-Act Festival, which he adapted into a short film, earning him a spot in the 2007 Big Damn Film Festival. His musical, Gina’s Parole, based on his screenplay of the same name, showcased at the New York’s Dramatist’s Guild, ASCAP Musical Festival, before winning a spot in both The Peekaboo Festival at The Mark Goodson Theatre.
Tony is also a self-published author of a trilogy of children’s books titled: “The Littlest Spruce,” “The Littlest Piggy” and “The Littlest Witch,” the latter of which he turned into a children’s musical that is now being licensed by Stage Rights LLC and playing at theatres across the country. “The Littlest Spruce” won the North American Book Exchange Award for Best New Children’s Book and was also featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Tony screenplays have been optioned and/or placed in various writing competitions including The Nicholl Fellowship Awards, Writer’s Digest Writing Competition and the 1st Project Greenlight Screenwriting Contest. Tony’s upcoming stop-motion animated movie “The Potters” stars Francis Fisher and Brittany Snow, and his stage play “Tammy Faye Tweets” (starring Charlene Tilton), that premiered at The Whitefire Theatre in May of 2016 in Los Angeles, has recently been optioned as a feature film. Tony’s original dramedy series “Yellow Bird” has placed in various writing competitions, and his adaptation of the book “Up All Night” (by Rhonda Shear) as both a feature film and original series is currently being shopped by Volition Entertainment. Tony’s short film “Losing Sight” (co-written with Shannon Dunn) is an official selection in the 2019 Colorado Women In Film Festival.
