David Sigura is a 24 year old actor-filmmaker living in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, David's passion for acting emerged early on and he participated in a number of theater productions. After a hiatus to help the family business and finish his education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, David committed to the entertainment industry full-time. In his spare time he loves to play guitar and take his friends to the latest and greatest fried chicken spots. His favorite films include There Will Be Blood, The Favourite, and The Great Dictator.
Precious Metals is the second script I've ever written, undertaken as practice for an online screenwriting competition. I was given a story in the public domain to adapt as well as a condition. The public work was The Glamour of the Snow by esteemed horror writer Algernon Blackwood, and the condition was that it had to be set in New York. Initially viewed as a challenge, I realized that I had been given a gift: the ability to take another artist's vision and re-imagine it as my own, with guidelines and resources from the source material to use along the way. A metaphor-laden surreal horror, I had a lot of fun crafting this tale, and I hope you have fun reading it.
