Prakasha is a meditative film that integrates three film meditations on Mountains, Water, and Water Lilies, created over a decade across three continents. Filmed mainly in India, from Himalayan snowfields to sacred rivers and a monsoon pond, it flows as a visual offering of light, water, and movement.
The integrated film brings attention to light as a connecting presence, and to water as the thread of continuity—manifested as snow, cloud, ocean, lake, rain, river, reflection, and the essence of all living forms on earth. Through this unfolding, the film invites a quiet experience of human unity with nature, colour, rhythm, and the self.
The soundtrack features Talvin Singh & Rakesh Chaurasia, Martin Maok Tesák, and Gianni Ricchizzi, woven with ambient location recordings to create a textured sonic landscape.
Prakasha invites you to move beyond symbolic interpretation and feel unity through the living resonance of human body, earth, water, and light.

Artist Statement – Param Tomanec
Prakasha means light—but in the Vedic sense, it also signifies illumination, the revealing force of consciousness. This film is an offering to that presence, and to the quiet awakening it reveals—within the world and within ourselves.
Filmed over a decade across three continents, Prakasha integrates three short films—Mountains, Water, and Water Lilies—each shaped by elemental encounters and patient observation. The integrated version exists as its own work, flowing through light, water, and silence.
Water moves through the film in many forms—snow, mist, river, dew, reflection, and living body—carrying a sense of interconnection between beings and environments.
The film features the director in sequences of contemplative yoga, where breath and gesture become ways of aligning with the world. This alignment suggests a deeper sense of human unity—within diversity, through embodied presence.
Human unity also lives in the process: my producers—Godfrey Reggio, Neeraj Kapoor, and Nagesh Chhabriya—share the vision and a personal connection as well anchoring the film in trust.
The soundscape interlaces global musical traditions with the raw pulse of field recordings, creating a textured world of sound that invites deep listening.
Prakasha calls the viewer to move beyond symbols — to sense unity through the living resonance of earth, water, and light.
