Portugal: Fight for Freedom!

In a time when Medieval Europe was suffering from the plague, famine, poverty, climate change and never-ending wars, where even the Catholic church was fighting with itself, two kingdoms come head-to-head on the edge of Europe.

This epic historical film that tells the true story of the Spanish Portuguese War 1383-1385 that would go down in history as one of the greatest victories for one and colossal humiliations for the other.

Filled with legendary heroes, intrigue, treachery, astonishing revelations and great military tactics that are taught in military academies today.

Bringing the key characters to life and recreating the main events including three major battles, a city siege, naval conflict and the formation of a political alliance between Portugal and England that still stands to this day.

The Alliance introduces John of Gaunt and his daughter Phillipa of Lancaster, who helps to transform a fledgling territory into a global powerhouse and its Golden Age.

Director Biography - Ilyas Kaduji

British director, producer, writer and visual effects veteran, Ilyas Kaduji has helped to create many major films. He has worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and has a wide range of experience in most production disciplines.

His film credits include Harry Potter, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Gladiator and Chronicles of Narnia among others. Ilyas has also worked on TV commercials & hit TV shows such as The Wrong Door and the Dr. Who series, both of which were BAFTA nominated in 2009 for Best Visual Effects with Dr. Who going on to win in this category.

After graduating in art and design in Manchester Ilyas began his career designing for the video games industry where he also worked as a concept artist and animator quickly gaining a reputation for his multi skills on projects like Jurassic Park, Carmageddon and The Italian Job.
In the early 1990's he moved into the feature film and TV arena where he has worked in visual effects, post-production, writing, producing and directing.

He is currently consultant on a major project in collaboration with Weta Digital.
