But it happens in Brazil—the country with the most football titles in the world and, in my opinion, the richest music on the planet. All of this is crowned with a soundtrack of chorinho and samba," said Filipe Rafaeli, the director and screenwriter of The Ball.

"Football and samba. It's exactly what the world expects from Brazil. It may sound like a cliché, but it's true. It's our culture, and we love it," he added. The film features an original song composed, scored, and produced by Douglas Lora, a three-time Grammy nominee.
