Director Statement

Plant Parenthood is a film that touches on the family-driven America of the past. The film paints a picture of a family with an absurd twist. Plant Parenthood is my expression of when the dream of a nuclear family, meets reality. The film also flips the stereotypical '60s -'70s marriage roles. The husband's sole desire is family whereas the wife is entirely career-focused. It also was important for me to showcase an African American man trying to become a father. I wanted to continue to push back against the negative stereotypes that exist in our world today.
