Hey, everybody!
Pizzaman, if you can believe it, this series wasn’t originally planned to be its own series. It was just a small thing I wrote for fun! it started out as basic as a film can get: a skit.I had recently gotten an audition for NCIS, where I played a pizza delivery boy who discovers a dead body. Seeing the potential here, I couldn’t resist adding a tidbit after one of the takes, where I went from freaked out to completely nonchalant. Like delivering to dead dudes was normal. Obviously we didn’t leave it in; but I didn’t want to let the thought go. So, I wrote a short skit around the idea. It was the same concept as the NCIS scene, but the dead guy actually comes to life. He gets kind of upset that he got the wrong order from the delivery guy (who I played), now dubbed, “Pizzaman”. I got a friend to be the “Dead Guy”, and we filmed it. Sounds great, right? You might be wondering whatever became of that scene. Well, not soon after filming it, Pizzaman was starting to become a show. We had the idea of using it as the pilot episode, but we scrapped that; El Cholo was just superior. I’ll tell you this, though, the scene will be in the show in a further episode…See if you can spot it!
And by now I’ll bet you’re thinking something like, “That’s cool and all, but how did you go from interacting with dead people to getting beat up by a crazy cholo?” And that’s a good question. See, Pizzaman is all about crazy shenanigans happening to this delivery guy who just wants a car. The lunacy ranges from basic competition with other restaurants to getting blown up by a car bomb.
It’s pretty cool.
From composing the music, to biking up that monstrous hill, to doing stunts for the first time, and writing a whole new subplot with a brand-new character into the story, I’ve had an absolute blast with Pizzaman!
I hope you will find my series as enjoyable to watch as it is to make.
