Director Statement

Pizza Cutter is a bite-sized slasher I conceived four years ago while touring film schools.

So, fittingly, it was the final film I made before leaving film school. It's an explosion of color and sound. Taking my favorite parts of slasher and giallo horror and filtering them through my vision of an anachronistic 4th of July night.

Shot in the final weeks of school on $100 with a group of close friends, and edited, colored, and sound designed solo. It was made with the same fighting spirit that got me and that gang through film school.

It's absurd without being over-the-top. It's beautiful without being clean. It's quick, vicious fun like the best slashers.
