Aimee Patmore has worked as an actor in the Australian industry for more than 10 years and appeared in award winning films and tv shows such as Wolf Like Me and My Place. Aimee has also studied acting internationally in Los Angeles at the Art of Acting studio where she trained in a conservatory program that teaches the Stella Adler technique.
Pinch is Aimee's directorial debut and has had a successful run on the film festival circuit including being nominated for the renowned “Young Australian Filmmaker of the Year” award at the Byron Bay International Film Festival.
"Mental health is an epidemic in Australia, and it is not just a made-up thing in people's minds; mental illnesses are debilitating and life-threatening. These illnesses manifest inside the body in ugly ways which are often not seen. Thus Pinch explores something so internal, externally, through the motif and metaphor of pinching. I hope through it we can have better conversations and more honest moments with ourselves and others.
I'm also proud to say that 80% of the cast and crew of Pinch are female or non-binary. This representation is important to me as a woman in this industry myself. I hope that Pinch will not only enlighten people to the health issues society is facing but also shine a spotlight on upcoming Australian talent."
