Peter Tompkins was born in autumn of 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Chardon, Ohio where he attended Chardon High School. After graduating high school, he attended Ohio University to study Graphic Design and Business Management.

Upon getting his Bachelors in Fine Art and Business Management he spent a short time working in Corporate America as a Telecommunications Support Technician and Call Center Representative. In late 2007, he decided to quit the rat race to start his own business. Skating Bear Studios was born. There he incorporated his natural abilities for composition and design to create visually stunning photography.

Peter is also a singer/songwriter and author of over one hundred and fifty original compositions. As an avid Beatles fan he was inspired to learn to play guitar and write songs starting at the age of fifteen. He has been performing as a solo acoustic musician since his early 20's.

His writings incorporate his love for music, his time working in the corporate world and his upbringing in a sleepy little town in midwestern America.
