Director Biography - Nikki Page

I am a filmmaker from Everett, Massachusetts. Enrolled in NYU's Undergraduate film program, I mix female-centered stories and punk rock influences in my work. This year, I interned at ReFrame, a project founded by Sundance and Women in Film, which works to balance gender representation in film and Stay Gold Features.

Director Statement

"Pest" was my take on a horror film where the character's inner thoughts are what drives the genre. I always put the relationships first and use horror elements to enhance their emotions.
I took my biggest fears (bugs!) and challenged myself to implement them into a story of a couple who are on the brink of ending things. I grew up loving films like "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Shinning" where we are able to get into someone's head and the audience feels they are going crazy along with them.
