A tree-hugger from Marin County, Van Kirk grew up loving the blend of culture and environment in the Bay Area. Always a creative, she studied english, political science, art and art history at UCLA and Columbia University. As a director of contemporary art galleries in Los Angeles, she wrote monthly press releases and a variety of magazine articles over fifteen years. She wrote her first screenplay in 1989 and is now on number four, with outlines for more. Sonoma fires in 2017 encouraged a move back to SoCal where she landed in the Palm Springs area.
I love to "what if" and allow it to take me into a variety of genres that I pepper with humor, paranormal (aliens, ghosts, Greek gods and goddesses) with the intent to entertain while provoke reflections on family and community relations.
