People Power

Hector Eduardo Rivera is a first-time Film Director/Producer. He was born in Mexico City and raised in the Mexican Pacific Riviera cities of Acapulco and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Interested in music since a young age, Hector started playing drums and guitar as a teenager as well as writing songs. Hector immigrated to the US in his early twenties after graduating with a Masters in Business Administration/English and French in Mexico City. It would not be until a decade or so later that he took a sabbatical to attend Los Angeles College Of Music in Pasadena, California, where he graduated with a double major in Drums and Percussion. Later, Hector taught himself how to record and engineer sound.

History of People Power:
It was through the collaboration of several incredibly talented individuals and on a shoe-string budget, that the Film People Power and its Spanish version: Poder Del Pueblo, were completed within a span of 12 years.

People Power was originally written as a Music Album by Hector and musical partner Mona Seda. The Music was arranged with the help of a group of friends (Daniele De Cario, Forrest Robinson and Mike Basica) who formed the band "No Matter What!"
Other friends also collaborated on the project.

Hector would then write a story in which the album songs connected the narrative, thus becoming a Concept Album. With the help of Danielle Hébert (Graphic Artist and Musician), an Illustrated Comic Book was created.

The Comic Book evolved into an Animated Episode Video Series produced by Hector and Danielle. Hector's father, Carlos Rivera, recorded the Narration portion of the story. Eventually, a Full Feature Animated Musical Film was born.

Currently Hector is working on the production of a sequel to People Power.
