Experiencing Interruptions?

Penny

Penny, an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) agent, receives a mysterious package on the doorstep of her apartment. Inside the package is a wooden cube with cryptic engravings. Panicked at the thought of her identity being exposed, she contacts her partner and immediately leaves, feeling unsafe in her home. On her journey, she begins to hear a faint ringing that seems related to the cube. Her world begins to seem different than before. She makes her way to her partner Jack’s house, partly bewildered by the new perspective, partly confused, and partly disoriented. All along, she is parsing the clues of the cube, trying to crack its code and translate its message. At Jack’s house, she has more questions than answers and discovers the sound is actually a beacon calling to her. Penny and Jack leave the house and follow the beacon's sound through a labyrinthine series of inner-city alleys and stairways, finally arriving at the source of the sound: a geometric fountain sculpture in the middle of the city. Penny begins to finally understand that what she is experiencing is some kind of new layer of understanding, and with this, her own understanding of herself, that she is not real. Although she can experience beauty, she can never truly exist in the same world that makes it possible. Having solved the puzzle of herself, she is presented with a final choice: to “replay” or “end game”, forcing her to choose between oblivion and reliving her beautiful yet meaningless existence, eternally.
