Once you find out Janis Joplin titled one of her albums with your name, you're obliged to make some weird art.
Pearl Amanda Dickson's career began as a munchkin in a local community theatre production of Wizard of Oz at the age of four. Then after writing and performing a one-woman play six years later, she convinced her parents to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Throughout her time in LA, she has booked multiple projects such as Criminal Minds, Noah Hawley's Lucy in the Sky, and recurring guest stars on Legion FX, Showtimes' Yellowjackets, and HBO Max's Vegas High.
She's always been interested in creating her own projects, though she wasn't sure which project was the right one to start on. While passing the time on set in 2019, she conceived the idea of Marble Man. An under ten minutes short about a teenager desperately in love with a marble statue, where she would play the lead and direct. A big task for anyone, nonetheless a seventeen-year-old first-time director. Luckily though, she raised enough money on the crowdfunding site Seed&Spark and found the right people to work with who supported her vision. She is currently submitting the short to festivals.
