Motivated by the potential of cinema as a tool for education and social development, we have been working in Latin America for years to consolidate the links between culture, the community, and their territory. Thanks to that, we have witnessed the positive changes cinema could bring to society and how films can provide an ideal context for constructive dialogue and collective interaction.
With our very first documentary ¨Heritage¨, we want audiences to reconnect with the potential of cultural spaces in Latin America by reflecting on their present with the hope of aiding their preservation and future. The city of Valparaiso, Chile, helps as empowering context of our film, adding to the significance of our message, thanks to its vigorous past as an artistic pillar. That past, once of a vibrant reference for the entire region is now threatened by the disappearance of many of its cultural venues and theaters.
