Parviz Tanavoli is one of the world's greatest modern sculptors. 'Poetry in Bronze' is the remarkable story of this esteemed artist's journey of creation that began in Iran in the 1950's and has spanned three continents over more than half a century.

Tanavoli's work is inspired by both historic Persian and modern Iranian folk art, culture and poetry. Although he works in a variety of mediums, Tanavoli is best known for his majestic bronze sculptures that are collected by leading art institutions around the world.

'Poetry in Bronze' features exclusive interviews with Tanavoli and prominent figures in the international art world who illuminate the emergence and rise of this extraordinary artist.

Director Biography - Terrence P.R. Turner

Terrence Turner – Director & Co-Producer, ‘Parviz Tanavoli: Poetry in Bronze’
Turner wrote and directed the award winning drama ‘Dishonour’ that explores the terrifying practice of female genital mutilation or FGM and its implications for an African family who are recent immigrants to the United Kingdom (www.Dishoour.ca)
Turner also directed and co-produced ‘Adele’s Wish’, a documentary film that recounts the struggle of Maria Altmann who sued Austria for the return of Gustav Klimt paintings stolen from her family by the Naz’s in 1938. Altmann’s story was later made into the feature film “Woman in Gold” starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.
