Limar Lendo Doke is a young Indian actor, writer, and director known for his debut novel, 5 Metres Away. The novel, published in 2025, is a coming-of-age story about hostel life, first love, and unspoken emotions, inspired by his own experiences. He was born on January 21, 2010, in Pushi Doke.
Parvati is a film born out of necessity—the painful, undeniable necessity of confronting the reality of violence against women in our society. This short film is directly inspired by true events, forcing the audience to witness the thin, volatile line between public celebration and private terror. My goal as a director was to translate raw, visceral fear into cinematic language. We deliberately establish a world of safety and beauty during the pooja, only to have it ripped away when Parvati is alone. The visual style is designed to be immersive, locking the audience into her perspective during the relentless, suspenseful chase. We utilize tight framing, urgent sound design, and natural lighting to amplify the sense of isolation and dread, transforming familiar streets into a hostile, inescapable maze. This film avoids sensationalism. Instead, it focuses on the psychological impact of being hunted, and the shattering realization that fundamental rights, like the right to walk home in peace, can be instantly revoked.Parvati is more than a depiction of a crime; it is an urgent commentary on vulnerability, systemic failure, and the societal burden placed upon victims. It is intended to be a difficult, but vital, piece of work that demands reflection and accountability from its audience.
