Lucas Alaya was born in Goya, Corrientes (Argentina). He studied cinema at CIEVYC. He was director, scriptwriter and producer of the short film “Cena entre humo”. He worked as an assistant director, cameraman, gaffer, actor's director and editor in various films. Content creator for the ObseCine+ medium on YouTube and Instagram and co-founder of the production company Tío Marty Producciones. His latest film, “Papá”, is a short documentary about the last months of his father Néstor's life.
"Dad", this documentary arose from the impulse to have a record of my father Néstor, when he suffered a stroke in August 2016, having been hospitalized in Goya, Buenos Aires and Rosario. The nights taking turns and taking care of him with my mother, basically converted into one more nurse due to the adaptability of the situation. I generate a resounding change in my life, emotional and daily routine.
Beyond my passions for photography and sports, the main one was cinema, I studied film and TV Directing, keeping an exact count of all the movies I've seen in my life, having a record of more than 3,800 movies and with great attraction of documentary film.
Influenced by Argentinian productions, recorded with a camera in hand, I recorded daily situations of my father without intervening, recording his visits and care.
With some emphasis on close-up shots, detailed shots to show his life, and a close-up sound treatment, focused on the sounds that influence his treatment, the vibration of the massagers, the suction machine, the motor of the inflatable mattress, the feed pump etc.
Without using music, nor appealing to "low blows" I wanted to show a real portrait, that many families live, but not everyone knows that way of life, dedication and care for a loved one.
