Director Biography - Daniela Di Salvo

Daniela Di Salvo is a Toronto based independent filmmaker. Over the past 5 years she has made 10 short films all of which have made various festival runs. Most recently, her latest short, "Welcome Home," won Best Mobile Short, Best Micro Film, and Best Director (Female) at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles. The film also won Best Sci-Fi Short and Best Director (Female) at Indie Short Fest. Her short, "It's Desmond," has also played in over 35 films festivals around the world. Daniela is inspired by the otherworldly-light and dark expressions of the world around us. The beauty, the ugly, the dark, and the sweet.
