Director Statement

In recent months, in which I have been trying to make a short film that I have had in my head for two years, almost three, I have realized that making it will be a titanic action due to the characteristics that the project possesses in order to make a way optimal.

It has also made me realize that, in my speeches and film theses, existentialism and death have always been present in my works.

This project has both, but the representation of death that I want to make on this occasion is the one that belongs to pre-Hispanic beliefs, about the god of death, Mictlantecuhtli, in charge of guiding souls to eternal rest through a long path that the person does.

This idea grounded in this script seems to me to be a voice that I want to come out of my head, a simple but very profound concept, the realization of which does not require complex questions like in the short film that I mentioned at the beginning.

The thesis of the film seems interesting and important for it to be made visible, since it talks about the spiritual purity that we must have at the moment of death.

It seems to me that this project can help me a lot to grow personally and professionally, since I haven't directed anything or anyone for four years. And this film seems to me the ideal option to direct me and do it, while I continue learning about cinematographic work.
