Director’s Statement: PSYCHLE
At its core, PSYCHLE is a dark comedy exploring the toxic loops we trap ourselves in when we refuse to embrace vulnerability, risk, and change. Dr. Loner represents the ultimate psychological contradiction—a relationship coach who can diagnose everyone else's fractures but remains completely paralyzed within his own. By contrasting his stubborn stagnation with Dolly, a literal object that breaks its own physical boundaries to spark genuine human connection, the film shines a satirical light on how difficult it is to break our own self-destructive cycles.
Choosing RunwayML as the primary medium for PSYCHLE was a deliberate artistic decision rather than a technical alternative. The dreamlike, slightly uncanny aesthetic of generative AI perfectly mirrors Dr. Loner’s closed-off, fractured emotional state and the surreal, magical realism of Dolly coming to life. This workflow allowed me to visually manifest the internal, repeating "cycles" of the human mind, proving that AI can serve as a deeply intuitive paintbrush to amplify a profoundly human story about psychological stagnation and the fear of letting go.
It amazes me that in the beginning God SPOKE creation into existence. We, created in the image and likeness of God, reflect His creativity when we tell stories, write songs, produce films. Here's to the creative process!
