Director Biography - Brian Rosenthal

Born/raised in New York and entirely self-taught, industry outsider Brian Karl Rosenthal cut his filmmaking teeth shooting on S-VHS camcorders in High School and editing deck-to-deck in the late 90's. In 2013 Rosenthal launched a geek-oriented YouTube channel which hosted several of his viral fan-films, parodies and assorted shorts to the combined tune of more than 20 million views.

In 2019, Brian was awarded BEST FLORIDA FILM for his short, "Fever", at iHorror Film Festival, BEST TRAILER for "The Last Blockbuster" at 2020's HORRORHAUS FILM FESTIVAL, BEST FLORIDA FILM for "POV" at 2023's POPCORN FRIGHTS FILM FESTIAL, as well as being nominated for BEST SHORT THRILLER at NIGHTMARES FILM FESTIVAL 2024 and winning BEST SHORT FILM at HORROR MOVIE FREAKS FILM FESTIVAL 2024 (both for "POV", respectively). Concluding its festival tour in November 2025, POV was nominated for 4 awards at Kevin Smith's SMODCASTLE HORRORFEST, including BEST SHORT.

Rosenthal is currently developing several short and feature length projects, including a feature adaptation of POV.

Director Statement

In an age of media bombardment, obfuscation, and misinformation, the most terrifying thing of all may be our inability to recognize a real threat... until it's too late.

POV is a nitro-fueled "slasher" Layer Cake, equal parts primal and cerebral-- a terrifying trip to a "WHAT IF?" alternate reality of brutal violence and dystopian thrills that taps into the all-too-familiar anxiety riddled zeitgeist of our times.

Think SCREAM meets DON'T LOOK UP with an action-packed twist! Grab a bucket of popcorn and turn off the lights. You're gonna have fun with this one, that's a promise.
